Current Programs
Educating the public on marine debris and other pressing environmental issues. The program will deliver educational presentations to schools, community groups, businesses and organizations around Hawai‘i that bring to light the effects of rubbish on our marine environment and motivate communities to work on simple solutions to address it.
Marine debris from the “Great Pacific Garbage Patch”, covering an area estimated between 270,000 sq.mi to 5,800,000 sq.mi, washes up daily on Hawai’i’s shorelines. Eia Hawaii Fund program will act to remove all debris from Hawaii’s coastline. As part of our Marine Debris Removal program, EHF will take a proactive stance in developing an early detection system to better allocate resources.
Eia Hawaii Fund is to facilitate the effective conservation of Hawai‘i’s native ecosystems in terrestrial, aquatic and mine realms. Our programs are designed to manage the threats to the viability of native ecosystems and species.
