Eia Hawaii Fund will only support free programs and services offered to the people of Hawai‘i by locally based nonprofits or state agencies.
Eia Hawaii Fund (EHF) aims to be the premiere funding resource for programs actively engaged in the preservation and elevation of Hawaiian ecology, culture, and society.
Built on a foundation of trust in the unique and inherent value of Hawai‘i, from our world-famous natural wonders and landscapes to our vibrant culture, steeped in history and ritual, EHF has a holistic vision of what it means for Hawai‘i to thrive.
To make this vision a reality, Eia Hawaii Fund channels necessary resources through a range of existing organizations and launches new initiatives as necessary to provide infrastructure, human resources, and empowered leadership that are critical to a flourishing Hawai‘i. EHF will focus funding in four key issue areas: Education, Culture and Arts, Hawaiian Heritage and Environmental Protection.
Why Take Action?
Whilst Hawai‘i has prospered according to a number of economic metrics, there remains a tremendous amount of work to be done to combat illiteracy, poverty, environmental degradation, and the devastating corrosion of our youth’s understanding of, and their connection to their Hawaiian Heritage.
How To Deliver Change?
To that end, we embrace the following three pillars as a guiding ethos to achieve our vision:

Knowing Who You Are
Rediscovering the importance of Hawaiian Culture and Heritage.

Knowing Where You Are From
Understanding the importance of protecting our ‘Āina.

Knowing Where You Are Going
Empowering our Keiki with all the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed.

Mission Statement
At Eia Hawaii Fund’s core, is the belief that the people of Hawai‘i have the will and the ability to enhance and protect their communities and environment. They are simply without sufficient resources. Considering the size and scope of challenges facing Hawai‘i, public funding is limited and only stretches so far. With soaring needs in infrastructure, social programs, security, the economy, and health care, our elected officials are facing difficult choices. It is up to the people and the private sector to fill the gap between what is needed and what the government can provide.
Eia Hawaii Fund has the potential and the energy to deliver on its promises to the people of Hawai‘i.
EHF’s first two years will be spent distributing funds to existing programs in Hawai‘i that work in the aforementioned areas and are operated by registered non-profits. EHF will serve not as a supervisor of these programs, but as a champion and partner, not just delivering funding but taking inventory of best practices to empower organizations across the state to maximize their potential impacts.
